WS151: Introduction to Women's Studies

Research Areas

Amy Joy Matsen earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on women's health and a Minor in theater from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and an M.A. in Political Science with a focus on Indigenous Politics and Public Policy, coupled with a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies. She has held several teaching assistant and research positions for the Women's Studies program. She is currently working on her doctorate degree in the Political Science Department at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and is interested in indigenous health policy and feminist biomedical ethics. Her current research concentrates on Indigenous women's health, militarism, and feminist/political theory.
